Do you believe in life after love? (ep 57)

I really don’t think you’re strong enough, no. Regardless, love remains the primary subject in pop music. Even unpop music, for that matter. This week, we explore that love connection, its lyrical and social convolutions, auto-tunage, and its ties to terrorism.

Would you cut off your own limb? (ep 56)

Some people are just born lucky. 10 fingers. 10 toes, 2 arms, several mal-shaped nipples. You know, normal stuff. Others don’t have such luck. Sure they may still be born with all the right numbers of fingers, toes, arms, and nipples, but shortly after birth they get their entire umbilical cord removed. Can you imagine that, to not have an umbilical cord any longer? Tragic. But what if you had the choice to remove a limb? Not only that, but you had to remove it yourself?

Would you rather be struck blind as a child or from birth? (ep 55)

As podcast hosts, we take pride in accessibility, operating under the assumption that we cater primarily to a blind audience. This episode in particular is for you, so we hope your screen reader doesn’t garble this text dedication. Our contribution to the deaf community, however, is obvious in its silence. Nor do we wish to burden them with transcription or captioning of this punditry. This week we debate the best time for blindness. Answer: Miller time, which also happens to be the best time for ageusia, covered back in Episode 15.

How would you design a drug? (ep 54)

Modern medicine. It’s a term that’s been thrown about since, well, long enough ago that the term modern couldn’t have been applicable. Maybe I’m arguing semantics. They should really make a pill for that. And who knows, perhaps that’s exactly what one of us will propose today as we ask, what kind of drug would you make?

Would you perjure yourself for a friend? (ep 53)

I’m not asking for me, I swear. I would never put you in a position to compromise our friendship. Prison will be full of new lifelong mates. No, just tell the jury what really happened, and I’m sure you’ll have no trouble finding another match for that rare bone marrow transplant. Ain’t no thang.
